Python Math: Exercise-7 with Solution

Write a Python program to calculate arc length of an angle.
Note: In a planar geometry, an angle is the figure formed by two rays, called the sides of the angle, sharing a common endpoint, called the vertex of the angle. Angles formed by two rays lie in a plane, but this plane does not have to be a Euclidean plane.

Sample Solution:-

    pi=22/7
    diameter = float(input('Diameter of circle: '))
    angle = float(input('angle measure: '))
    if angle >= 360:
        print("Angle is not possible")
        return
    arc_length = (pi*diameter) * (angle/360)

Python: Tips of the Day

Find current directory and file's directory:

To get the full path to the directory a Python file is contained in, write this in that file:

import os 
dir_path = os.path.dirname(os.path.realpath(__file__))

(Note that the incantation above won't work if you've already used os.chdir() to change your current working directory, since the value of the __file__ constant is relative to the current working directory and is not changed by an os.chdir() call.)

To get the current working directory use

import os
cwd = os.getcwd()
