Write a Python program to access multiple elements of specified index from a given list.

Sample Solution:

def access_elements(nums, list_index):
    result = [nums[i] for i in list_index]
    return result


nums = [2,3,8,4,7,9,8,2,6,5,1,6,1,2,3,4,6,9,1,2]
print ("Original list:")
print(nums)
list_index = [0,3,5,7,10]
print("Index list:")
print(list_index)
print("\nItems with specified index of the said list:")
print(access_elements(nums, list_index))

Sample Output: 

Original list:

Index list:

Items with specified index of the said list:
[2, 4, 9, 2, 1]

Python: Tips of the Day

Find current directory and file's directory:

To get the full path to the directory a Python file is contained in, write this in that file:

import os 
dir_path = os.path.dirname(os.path.realpath(__file__))

(Note that the incantation above won't work if you've already used os.chdir() to change your current working directory, since the value of the __file__ constant is relative to the current working directory and is not changed by an os.chdir() call.)

To get the current working directory use

import os
cwd = os.getcwd()
