Write a Python program to remove specific words from a given list using lambda.

Sample Solution:

def remove_words(list1, remove_words):
    result = list(filter(lambda word: word not in remove_words, list1))
    return result
        
colors = ['orange', 'red', 'green', 'blue', 'white', 'black']
remove_colors = ['orange','black']
print("Original list:")
print(colors)
print("\nRemove words:")
print(remove_colors)
print("\nAfter removing the specified words from the said list:")
print(remove_words(colors, remove_colors))

Sample Output:

Original list:
['orange', 'red', 'green', 'blue', 'white', 'black']

Remove words:
['orange', 'black']

After removing the specified words from the said list:
['red', 'green', 'blue', 'white']

Python: Tips of the Day

Find current directory and file's directory:

To get the full path to the directory a Python file is contained in, write this in that file:

import os 
dir_path = os.path.dirname(os.path.realpath(__file__))

(Note that the incantation above won't work if you've already used os.chdir() to change your current working directory, since the value of the __file__ constant is relative to the current working directory and is not changed by an os.chdir() call.)

To get the current working directory use

import os
cwd = os.getcwd()
